What We Believe
- We believe there is only one God. He is the Author of all creation. He spoke the worlds into existence, and everything that is, either directly or indirectly exists because of Him
- We believe that God exists in three distinct persons; God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- We believe that the Bible is completely true, accurate, and fully the inspired word of God. It is the only true source for Doctrine, and any teaching that contradicts the Bible is not of God.
- We believe that because of the transgression and fall of Adam, sin and death were ushered into this world, and that all men are now born into sin, and are in need of salvation.
- We believe that Jesus Christ is God’s only begotten son.
That he was born of a Virgin
That though He was tempted as all men, He lived a sinless life I Pet. 2:21,22
That He paid for our healing by the stripes he bore on His back
That He ransomed our souls by his death and atonement on the cross
That He was raised from the dead
That He ascended to the father where: Eph. 4:10
He now intercedes for those who believe on Him I John 2:1
And He is preparing a place for those who believe on Him John 14:2
That He will return again to claim His bride, the Church John 14:3
- We believe that regeneration through the atonement of Jesus Christ is the only way to inherit eternal life Rom. 3:25 and/ or Heb. 2:17
- We believe that Jesus gave clear instructions as to our purpose here on earth as his followers...based on scriptures found in Matthew 28 and Mark 16, this purpose has been dubbed “The Great Commission”…very simply put, to reach the world with the saving message of Jesus Christ, making disciples. Every function of Harvest Fellowship should have this end in mind.
- We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit Titus 3:5
(or deposit) from God I Cor. 6:19
That He was sent by God upon Christ’s ascension, to dwell among us to convict the world of
sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment
That Jesus offers a Baptism in the Holy Spirit that is a separate work from Salvation Matt. 3 :11
This Baptism is not necessary for Salvation
This Baptism gives power to be witnesses Acts 1:8
That the Gifts of the Spirit are still available to believers today, including; Words of Wisdom
and Knowledge, Faith, Healing, Working of Miracles, Prophecy, Discernment, Tongues, and
Interpretation of Tongues. I Cor 12: 7-11
These Gifts are given by the Holy Spirit as He wills I Cor. 12:11
- We practice Water Baptism by immersion, and believe that Water Baptism is a direct command of the Lord, and that it is for believers only. As one is baptized, not only are they being obedient, butthey are acknowledging their identification with Christ, His death, burial, and resurrection. Rom. 6:3-7
- We practice open Communion, or the Lord’s Supper, meaning that all believers should feel free to partake. We partake in this ordinance as symbolic remembrance of Christ’s suffering and death for our Salvation I Cor. 11:23-26
